How To Apply


Step 1REVIEW THE PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS FOUND ON THE APOLLO THEATER'S WEBSITE.

  You must meet all requirements of the program in order for your application to be considered.

Step 2: CAREFULLY READ THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS. 

You will find these at the top of each section of the application.

Step 3: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM.

Be sure to fill out all sections of the application. Applications that are incomplete will not be considered. Make sure you have included all requested information including contact information for the adults providing your two (2) letters of recommendation and a copy of your most recent transcript.

**INCOMPLETE AND LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED**

Apollo Internship Online Application Form Instructions 

This online application form has five (5) sections that you will need to complete. 


1. Personal and School Information

2. Volunteer, Work Experience, and Extracurricular Activities 

3. Essay

4. Contact Information for Two Letters of Recommendation 

5. Copy of Your Most Recent Transcript


TIPS:

  • This application form will not be available after 10:00 PM EST on the application deadline. Give yourself a generous amount of time to complete the online application and personal statement prior to the deadline.
  • Sections 1 & 2 of the application may take only 3-5 minutes to complete online. You are advised to complete Section 3 (Personal Statement) in advance. You can upload your Personal Statement or copy & paste the statement when you are ready to submit the application. 
  • The personal statement asks you to briefly tell us why you are applying to the Apollo Theater Academy Technical Stage Production Internship Program. In your statement you should address answers to the following questions: Tell us why you are applying to the Apollo Theater Academy Technical Stage Production Internship Program. Share with us what appeals to you about the Apollo Theater’s history and legacy. What are some of your goals and interests? What do you hope to gain from your experience at the Apollo Theater? What do you think you can contribute to the program? What does it mean to be a creative? 
  • You will also need to provide us with valid email addresses for two (2) adults who will write letters of recommendation in support of your application.

Section 3: Essay

Please answer the questions below.

We strongly encourage researching our history on our website.

Section 4: Letters of Recommendation

You will need two (2) letters of recommendation to move through the final rounds of the interview process. Please provide us with the contact information for an appropriate adult who will complete the recommendation on your behalf. A suggested appropriate adult includes a teacher, mentor, or guidance counselor. Triple check the email addresses you are providing before submitting; make sure you check for spacing, spelling, and punctuation.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR RECOMMENDATION LETTERS MUST BE FROM AN ADULT WHO IS NOT A FAMILY MEMBER.

Section 5: Transcript

Please provide us with a copy of your most recent school transcript. You can scan a copy, or take a picture of the document and insert the file as a jpeg/png here. If you are attaching a picture, please make sure it is clear and the full transcript is visible.  We need to be able to clearly see that you are currently in the 11th grade.
